History of museum
The museum in Jesenice was founded by the national history and geography enthusiasts in 1959. Events of World War II., new residents and attempts to prove Slavic origin of Jesenice led to establishment of the institution. In Jesenice and surrounding villages were collected material – archeological relics, parish and school Chronicles, the attics of old houses were searched, children´s national and geographic club was involved. The items were meanwhile gathered in the building of local municipal office and in privet homes of enthusiasts. On 12th November 1967 the collections were exhibited in the premises of former manor pub and in the part of educational house.
